dockage fees run between $16,50 - $ 32,00 per ft / month.
On average an 80ft / 24m yacht will pay $ 1,600.00 per month on an
annual basis.
Seasonal or short term leases can almost double that amount.
On a 12 month basis therefore income would be approximately $ 1,600.00
per month or $19,200.00 total.
The costs of ownership of a 90ft / 27.5m dock at the Waterways Marina
currently runs at
$289.00 per month (Service Charge) with an annual Property Tax of
$3,500.00 (2005).
Maintenance of the adjoining jetties and bulkhead are a shared
responsibility covered by that monthly fee. There are no other fixed
costs.
Electricity with 2 x 50 amp breakers per dock is metered.
Pumpout, Water and Cable Television are included in the monthly service
charge and Telephone service is available directly from Bell South.
On a 12 month basis therefore fixed costs would be approximately
$580.00 per month or
$6,960.00 total.
Depending on the owner's financial circumstances, this could amount to a profit of $ 12,240.00 to be added to the annual capital appreciation of the investment. |
