Specifications and Layout : General layout:
Giant has five working deck levels. The lowest level - Tween Deck - houses the machinery amidships and aft, while the crew accommodations, crew cafeteria and lounge are forward.

The Main Deck has a long corridor joining the main salon aft with four of the guest suites forward and the crew's accommodations. On this level are also the two dining rooms, the theatre and the galley.
Then up to the Boat Deck, housing the two 40ft Ocean Sports Fisherman amidships.

This deck has a similar layout to the deck beneath, with a corridor joining the aft lounge to six of the guest suites forward and then additional crew's quarters.
The Owner's Deck has the helicopter pad aft and the forward accommodations consist solely of the owner's suite and a single cabin adjacent for security or a secretary. On the forward section is located the car garage.
The Bridge Deck has accommodations for the Captain and a pilot.

Entrance is from the boat deck on either port or starboard side via doorways that lead directly into the aft lounge, or through double doors amidships on the starboard side of the main deck directly into the foyer.

The Main Deck:

Aft is a large working deck housing a jumbo capstan amidships and two large sets of mooring bitts on either side. Being fully enclosed with windows, this deck area can be combined with the adjacent main salon so as to offer an interior / exterior entertainment venue, agreeable in all weather conditions.
The salon measuring 36' x 36' has on the starboard side a marble topped bar and a study corner with a desk and winged chair. Portside, under the windows are grouped easy chairs, while the center of the room divides into three areas. Aft is a group of sofas around a coffee table, centre is the staircase down to the tween deck, while forward is a fireplace, with carved wooden mantle supported by two dolphins opposite a leather couch and leather embossed coffee table.

Moving forward, twin dining rooms, each seating twelve are located to port and starboard opening into the salon, while a long corridor serves the movie theatre amidships, then opens into the main foyer, with the galley to port and continues forward to the guest accommodations on this deck. There are two adjoining cabins to starboard - "Buckingham" and "Baudin" - separated by a vestibule with a sofa and a small corner writing table. Ensuite bathrooms permit dual usage as individual cabins, or in combination are ideal for children of any age.

The corridor ends in a small private foyer, serving the "King" and "Queen" suites.
The King Suite on the starboard side, has three rooms and an ensuite bathroom. Amenities similar to the owner's suite, include a private office and salon. Entry is through the salon, with polished wood floors and furnished with an armoir and sofa. Through double pocketing doors forward is the office, with a free standing desk and two high backed winged armchairs in wicker.
The bedroom has a walk in cedar closet and the bathroom includes a full sized bath with dark marble surrounds.
The Queen Suite opposite offers two rooms and a bathroom. On entry, to ones, left is a nine drawer chest with brass handles and adjacent is a writing desk. Under the windows are settees and a low coffee table while in the middle of the room is an oval dining table for four.
The bedroom is partially divided from the sitting area with a floor to ceiling closet in wood. The ensuite bathroom is finished in cream marble and includes a vanity with marble top and a full sized bath with black marble surrounds.

The Boat Deck :

The aft deck on this level - the sun deck - is a splendid place to entertain ones guests or simply enjoy the huge expanse of open teak decking and panoramic views. Measuring some 24' x 36'and amply furnished with tropical style wicker sofas and armchairs, this deck has all the elegance and charm associated with the magnificent yachts of bygone years.

From this exterior deck, large double sliding glass doors open onto the sundeck lounge, an equally impressive space 33' x 30', with an informal bar on the port side that extends out into the aft deck, a great place just to sit and sip and watch the comings and goings of such a busy ship. Mahogany paneling and richly polished wooden flooring, combined with deep wicker sofas lend an aura of colonial times reminiscent of Raffles in Singapore. Two circular tables, each set for five diners grace the forward corners of this charming salon, while to starboard and aft descends the staircase, with its wrought iron balustrade, to the main deck below.

A wide corridor, paneled in mahogany, with handrails mounted in brass and lined with paintings, extends forward of the salon. A tapis of polished cream marble, some one hundred and twenty feet in length and framed by the darker hues of the wooden floor, creates an inescapable image of the luxury associated with the ocean liners of the past.
Long oval windows look out onto the 40 ft Ocean Sports Fisherman cradled on either side.

Six of the guest suites are located forward on this deck.

The first, walking forward on the starboard side, is the "Kandinsky" Suite, decorated in traditional shipboard colors, with blue carpeting and a blue upholstered sofa. Furnishings include an armoir, a writing desk and a television The ensuite bathroom, tiled and floored in marble, has a full sized shower and marble topped vanity.

Opposite on the port side is the "Ivan Gogh" Suite.
A large suite with the King sized bed set diagonally opposite the windows and a walk-in cedar lined closet. A planter, set behind the bed and filled with tropical foliage is backed by twin mirrors, enhancing the overall effect of spaciousness. An L shaped divan fills the opposite corner, while the camel carpeting and blue upholstery give accent to the rich mahogany paneling.
The ensuite bathroom, finished in marble has a marble topped vanity with twin wash basins and a full sized shower.

Four other suites lead off the corridor, each the same size.
First to starboard and to port are the "Monet" and "Rousseau" Suites. Large twin oval port lights give these cabins plenty of natural light and there is no shortage of recessed overhead lighting in this or any of the other suites. Furnished with soft olive green carpeting, green bedspreads and matching sofas and ottomans. Each cabin has a built in cedar closet and writing desk. The ensuite bathrooms, finished in marble, have full sized baths along with the marble topped vanity.
Last on this deck is the "Rembrandt" Suite and "La Tourraine" Suite.
Both suites have built in cedar lined closets, writing bureaux and built in bedside tables.
Fabric panels set into mahogany frames decorate the bed heads, while deeply upholstered sofas in blue blend with the blue carpeting to enhance the luxurious ambiance. The ceilings are typically lightened by the use of white panels set into darker wooden frames and as in all the suites, full length mirrors and paintings adorn the walls. Ensuite bathrooms in marble offer full sized baths.

The Owner's Deck :

This deck is dedicated exclusively to the owner's suite the "Hermitage" and to an adjacent smaller suite the "Bottero" suitable for a bodyguard or a secretary.
These suites have direct access to the exterior side decks.
Although quite small, the "Botero" is charming, with a writing table built in beneath a big window overlooking the side deck that surrounds the bridge. An olive green carpet and burgundy furnishings complement the mahogany paneling and reflect in the full length mirrors that dress the floor to ceiling closets. The ensuite bathroom has a full size marble tiled shower and a marble topped vanity.

The Hermitage Suite is palatial.

On entering the owner's day room, there is a very large bar to starboard, with granite countertop, permitting extensive entertainment of privileged guests. Against the aft wall is a fireplace surrounded by wooden shelves and cupboards. Facing the fireplace is a brass inlaid coffee table, a sofa, a deep armchair with an ottoman and above the mantle a large flat screen TV.

Past the bar on the starboard side is the study, with a big free - standing desk and against the centerline wall a leather couch. It is a relaxed and private room with an adjacent bathroom and an exterior door to the side deck.

The owner's bedroom is divided from the day room by a mirrored wall allowing passage on either side. The king sized bed faces forward and the fitted oatmeal toned carpet and matching furnishings are restful to the eye. Comfortable armchairs, with ottomans fill each corner opposite the bed. The entrance to the ensuite bathroom is forward, past a walk in closet. Central is a big Jacuzzi tub, with a fully mirrored back wall and marble surround. Individual showers are to port and starboard. Twin wash basins are set into the marble topped vanity. The whole bathroom, walls and floor are marble tiled. There is an additional closet against the far starboard wall.

The Bridge :

Just a few steps up from the owner's deck is the bridge deck. Along the corridor is the captain's cabin portside and to starboard the wireless room and the pilot's cabin. The chart station is on the port side of the corridor, just before the entrance to the bridge. The bridge has a traditional center console, with independent helm station and binnacle amidships. A handrail and standing area runs the full width of the bridge beneath the forward windows, providing a secure site from which to observe the ship's progress at sea. There is a large seating area and table against the aft starboard bulkhead.

The Galley :

The galley is built with stainless steel walls and ceiling to best commercial standards and is capable of handling any functions that an owner might envisage holding on board. Natural light is provided by large windows along the entire length. The equipment is extensive and on the deck below are substantial walk in freezers and refrigerators, sufficient to contain the provisions necessary for a vessel such as this to spend weeks at sea.

Crew's Accommodations :

Accommodations for the crew of 24 are forward on three decks. Mindful of the stress that long periods at sea can impose upon the crew, care has been taken to ensure that the cabins are generous in proportion and that there is no overcrowding. The crew's mess and lounge is down the stairs and forward of the galley.

Broker's remarks :

There are expedition yachts and then there is Giant. Truly a ship for all seasons and all oceans. The conversion started with a hull built of the finest Corton steel by a well know Dutch shipyard and with highly reputable machinery. The present owner has had a lifetime experience of projects such as this and he spared no expense in creating the most desirable private passenger vessel afloat. For those who have experienced the pleasures of previous generations of ocean liners, this vessel will bring back memories of those times, when the pleasure of the voyage was as important as the destination itself.
